My year in Grill 2.0

Dear Future self

This will be telling you about my last year at College Street. This year i’m in Grill 2.0 with Mr Robertson and Miss Gordon. To start of the year we all sit on the mat and the teachers explained how the year would work. Then we all met as a senior syndicate.

Wow College Street with all the great opportunities at this school and the amazing sport opportunities which Mr R runs like Touch Rugby, Tennis and what else can i name there's so much sports.

In Grill 2.0 this year we have learn a lot more than last year. We have mostly learn on devices this year and we get 1 to 1 devices and people bring their own ipads and computers. It is a lot faster learning on computers than books because you and just touch the numbers and letters on computer than it will type and then books.

My earliest memory at College Street was in 2011 my first year of school. Mr R was our student teacher. I kept saying the flashcard when it was someone Else's turn to say the word then i had to sit outside.

I’ve achieved goals that I would have never thought to achieve like coming second in C.S.N.S. Digi award and winning Richo cup and Richo basketball and more.

I have achieved most of my writing goals and now i can move on to more goals. I have loved my year in Grill 2.0 i couldn't find better.

Basketball final 2016 CSNS Tigers v Russell Street Pistions

2016 PNBA Thursday Basketball Competition. The CSNS Tigers were off to the PNBA A grade finals Blake, Jacey, Van, Stevie, Hamish, Oliver, Zihao and Ian. In the finals it was College Street Tigers VS Russell Street Pistons. At halftime the score was 16-14 to Russell Street. We made a massive come back and we were up by 6 points. At the end of the game the score was 36-32 to the College Street Tigers. We had massive smiles on our face we were so happy.It was an awesome season and we’d like to thank Terry Tanoa for the great experience he has given us.

Athletics Day

Athletics Day

On Wednesday the 9th of November College Street had athletics day. There were 6 events Long Jump, High Jump, Long Distance, Shot put/Throw, Hurdles and Sprints. We could enter championship events i entered Long Jump and Hurdles. First we did long distance on your marks get set GO. We went Zooming off like a Jaguar. We had to do one lap of the massive Field it was as big as a rugby stadium. We we were coming up at the finish line i sprinted but Jaeziah just bet me. Next we had high jump i got the first jump at 1 metre 15 but then i failed the next go. Dom and Cole were the last two left they were amazing they jumped 1 meter 25 10 centimeter's more than me. After the morning tea break we had Shot Put/Throw. We had throw 2 shotput's and i got a 3 i think it was pretty hard. Now we had hurdles i won hurdles i was pretty happy. After lunch i had sprints and i just came second nearly first. Then last Long Jump i got a four the highest score. At athletics i had a blast I wish i could do athletics next year.

Cultural Sports Rotations Day

On Thursday last week we started to take action. How I took action was doing Cultural Sports day and all the sports are Yoga, Kabaddi, T Ball, Gaelic Football and Hand Ball which Me Cole and Tyler.B are teaching. This is the equipment for Hand Ball 3 Whistles, 4 Goals, 30 Bibs, 40 Cones and 2 Dodge balls. We are doing a Cultural Sports Day because we have been learning about cultural diversity. I have been doing research on Hand Ball, The rules, What we need and booking places. We have had to watch YouTube video's to see how to play. The rules are pretty basic but we had to change them because it makes it easier and so people don't get hurt. Here are the rules There are 12 players for each team. You can pass the ball Back and Forwards then you throw the ball and attempt to score a goal. You can run with the ball but you can pass the ball if you want to. If you are trying to get the ball you can try and intercept or steal off them. If you hit them you will get penalized and sent off. There are 5 minute quarters with 30 second breaks in between and you can sub. We had to go out for a trail to see if the game worked. We will do a sports rotation on the 21/11/16.

On Saturday night i went to Ongley park to watch the fire works set of at ANZAC park. The fireworks were amazing all i heard was BANG. At Ongley park we set of some sparklers and we saw other people setting of fountains. Here are some photos of fireworks.

Year 6 Writing

I have been at C.S.N.S since 2011. My earliest memory was when Mr R was my student teacher in Year 1. When it was my brother’s turn to say the words on flashcards I would say them too.

My Highlights from College Street are camps, basketball, playing in the Ricoh tournament and all the other sports. I am really proud of winning the Ricoh basketball, Thursday basketball competitions and coming second in the C.S.N.S Digi awards with our short movie.

My funniest moment was in my last term at C.S.N.S. It was on a friday afternoon. Miss Gordon hates balloons so me, Teshan and Tyler said “Miss G” then BANG!!! We popped a balloon on Miss Gordon. The whole class was laughing.  

My least favourite thing at College Street is the assemblies, because we have to sit on the floor and it normally goes into our Morning tea or into weekend time after school on Fridays.

Next year I will be going to P.N.I.N.S. My goal is to get all the Blue badges. In the future I would like to play in the NBA or be a Head Coach for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Auckland Trip 2016

Dear Mum And Dad

Thank you so much for taking Me, Tyler, Jayden and Alyssa to

Auckland. My favorite part of going up to Auckland was going on a plane and going to Rainbows End.

I was excited when I was sitting on the plane waiting to take off and the propellers started to go. I was even more excited when we took off.

You made me break my fears by going on the Invader and going on the Stratus Fear. You took three days off work, even longer because there was a delay on the way back.

The day after we went to Auckland you were so busy catching up on work,  just like a plane going back and forward.

I had the best time I have ever had in Auckland and I really appreciate you taking us there.

 My name is Blake and i think that New Zealand should make junk food expensive and healthy food cheap.cPoor people can’t afford fruit and veggies so they have to buy cheap food and that would be junk food and they become obese.Coke has too much sugar for a kid and a adult if i was the prime minister i would banned coke.And think about kids going to the dairy and buying a whole coke bottle to himself.People prefer to drink fizzie instead of having a cup of milk for breakfast.cIt’s up to you to pick if your on my side or not.

Hieroglyphic Narrative

Jimi and his lion

Once upon a time there was a boy called Jimi Jackson. He had a pet lion called Jimi Jr. He lived a very happy life until a vulture came along and attacked his lion. His lion ran off to the forest.

Jimi decided that he needed to go on a bush walk to find him. He packed his bag to go on a big walk to find his lion. He packed food, a basket, a bandage (in case his leg or arm hurts) and a lot more stuff. On the way to find Jimi Jr. he saw heaps of vultures sitting in a tree. He was amazed at the sight of the huge birds.

One hour later Jimi saw his lion with his family. He was so upset seeing him have so much fun without him. He said to himself I don't need Jimi Jr. he’s copied my name and ran of.

Suddenly he tripped over a root on the ground and injured himself really bad. He called out to his lion saying “ Help me Jimi Jr. I hurt myself ”  Jimi and his family come over and saw him hurt. They ran off to find some help.

Later the lions came over with someone. It turned out that someone was The Lion Man. Jimi Jackson says “can you please help me”? The Lion Man says “ Hang on who are you, I think I have seen you before”? “Yes you have, I live in the village my name is Jimi, Jimi Jackson”. “Ok let's put a bandage around your leg” he says.

After Jimi was bandaged up he spoke with Jimi Jr. They were talking about the vultures and how they came along and tried to attack the lion. They wished they would have a peaceful day and none of this stuff would of happened. They Jimi and his lion lived a very happy life.

I hear a noise it’s a vulture ahhh. It’s ok BANG!!! What was that. That was me i shot the vultures.

All right let's get back to the village and let you heal.

The next day Jimi Jackson was back up on his feet finding more adventures every day.
